Kaitlyn Nicole Kiers.
15. Female. Sophmore. Heterosexual.
Kaitlyn, sometimes known as "Katie" by close or old friends, is one of the students not on a scholarship. That doesn't mean she's any worse than those who are, it just means her parents had thirty thousand dollars to spend on school, which is nothing compared to the fifty thousand dollar tuition fee of the boarding school in North Carolina she went to for kindergarten through eighth. Her family lives in Maine, where they own a very nice barn known to produce high-end horses of all disciplines. All her skill lies solely in jumping though. Katie originally started in dressage, and moved to eventing, but now is focusing on her jumping, and maybe extending a little bit into equitation and hunter. She is a complete perfectionist, and naturally tries to do everything herself. Her parents never hired a groom to help her at shows, she always had to do it herself. Because of that though, she focuses not only on a horses skills in the saddle, but also on the ground. She takes her time in doing things, and never rushes herself. She's ridden more horses than one could count, from her parent's client's horses to horses that a random person at a show owned. She herself has owned only two horses though, her first horse died a couple years ago because of colic, the horse she has now is well, he's kind of hard to handle.
The four year old trakehner gelding, Quiet Before the Storm, or Tic, is a complete spaz. In the field, he spends his time bucking and romping around more than a yearling. When one goes out to catch him, he dances around, almost always stepping on one's feet unless they're careful. He will stand, but only for a little while so you have to be quick grooming him and tacking him up. Once you've done so, you have to longe him. Finally, you can get up, but even then, he's antsy. He is easily distracted by any other horses. But when a strong rider is on him and they prove they can control him, he puts all that energy into work. He can tell if you can handle him or not, and if you can't, your ride will be absolutely dreadful. Even though she and Tic are an amazing pair.
She has been told many times she should take him south or to the west coast to compete, but there are many complications that don't allow such. She would never sell him for any price though.
Kaitlyn can have trouble making friends. She is very quiet and is better with animals than humans. She is kind, but she isn't very emotional. For her, it's hard to understand how people are still depressed about things very long after it happens because she is more focused on the present and future. She isn't exactly a social oucast, people know who she is, but most of them don't know her.
Kaitlyn is usually seen in artist crop jean capris and a solid t-shirt. She wears her black hair down except when riding, and then it's in a pony tail. At the stable, she wears breeches and either an exercise shirt or a t-shirt.
